Post-charge Diversion and Deferred Prosecution Program

Description:
The offender agrees to enter a plea to select charges. The Court will defer the entry of a judgment of conviction for an agreed time period. During this time, the offender must comply with the terms of the Deferred Judgment Agreement (DJA). If all conditions of the DJA are met by the offender, the charges are reduced or dismissed by the DA’s Office. If the offender fails to comply with the DJA, the DA’s Office requests the Court to enter the judgment of conviction and proceed to sentencing.
