The Wisconsin Treatment Court Standards were first developed in 2014. In 2018, the standards were revised, and several regional trainings were offered by a group of stakeholders from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Wisconsin Association of Treatment Court Professionals (WATCP), and the Director of State Courts Office. These trainings were intended to provide foundational information related to state and national best practice standards.
In 2025, The Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Director of State Courts Office are collaborating to provide training on standards for treatment courts across the state. The regional trainings being held in 2025 are aimed to also provide foundational information from the recently updated and released national All Rise Standards. Below is the PowerPoint slide deck used for these trainings. Though this is a resource for program staff, it is recommended that all Treatment Court Team members attend an in-person standards training.
Treatment Court Standards Training-2025-Final
The Wisconsin Diversion Standards were developed and approved in 2021. A diversion standards training session for new programs was held in January of 2023. In 2025, The Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Director of State Courts Office are collaborating to provide training on standards for diversion programs across the state. The 2025 regional trainings are based on those standards along with recently updated best practice standards used for the population typically served in a pre-charge and post-charge diversion program. In addition to the diversion standards, the training will include information related to the recently approved Wisconsin Statewide Pre-Charge and Post-Charge Diversion Program Outcome and Performance Measures Report. Below is the PowerPoint slide deck used for these trainings. Though this is a resource for program staff, it is recommended that all Diversion Program staff attend an in-person standards training.
