The Zaagiibagaa Healing to Wellness Court provides a combination of substance use treatment, behavioral health treatment, education and supervision in order to hold relatives accountable to the court, to themselves, to their families and to their community. The program incorporates culturally guiding principles in order to reduce crime, restore individual health, and honor traditional values.

Post-charge Diversion and Deferred Prosecution Program
Description:
Vilas County has a court diversion program for low and moderate risk offenders. Participants are screened and offered a deferred entry of judgment in exchange for a guilty/no contest plea. The participant agrees to avoid any further criminal activity and complete an assigned case plan lasting from 9-12 months on average. In exchange for successful completion the charges are either reduced to an ordinance violation or dismissed.
