The mission of Jefferson County Alcohol Treatment Court (JCATC) Program is to reduce the number of repeat drunk drivers (OWI) by allowing OWI offenders to participate in alcohol and other substance abuse treatment under strict judicial and community supervision. The ATC will use community and justice system resources in a cost effective and efficient manner to provide participants with rehabilitation opportunities, while holding offenders accountable, enhancing public safety and promote treatment alternatives.

Description:
The JCDTC is a pre & post-conviction diversion model for non-violent offenders charged with criminal behavior AND having a current need for substance abuse treatment. Potential participants are identified through referral, application, and eligibility screening process and agree to participate in the JCDTC program as a result of a negotiated Deferred Agreement. JCDTC employs partnership of intense Court supervision to hold offenders accountable and comprehensive community based treatment.
